ÉLEVAGE DE LA VALLÉE D’ANOGRUNE
OUR APPROACH
Our Breeding Philosophy
At Élevage de la Vallée d’Anogrune, we have chosen a truly family-based breeding approach, fully integrated into our daily life.
There are no kennels here.
Our dogs live in the home, at the heart of our living space, in constant contact with us, our children, our other dogs, and the natural sounds of everyday life (household activities, visits, daily routines…).
This environment allows our puppies to grow in a balanced, real-life setting, naturally developing confidence and stability. We guide new lives into the world with intention, responsibility, and deep respect for the breed.
Early Socialization & Desensitization
From as early as 3 weeks of age, we begin a progressive desensitization process, essential for their well-being and future emotional stability.
Puppies are gently and thoughtfully exposed to:
- other animals, including our chickens
- everyday sounds
- traffic noise (cars, tractors, trailers…)
- gunshot sounds
- various environments (garden, wooded areas, hedges, sand areas…)
When weather allows, they have access to a secured outdoor area of over 250 m², designed as a true exploration space. This work encourages natural adaptability and helps prevent future fears.
We also gradually introduce:
- collar
- leash
- potty training area
- respect of indoor boundaries
to ease their transition into their future homes.
Quality Over Quantity
We intentionally limit our breeding program to one to two litters per year.
This allows us to dedicate to each puppy:
- time
- attention
- individualized care
Families can join a waiting list.
We understand that waiting can require commitment, but it ensures a thoughtful, responsible, and well-matched adoption.
Breeding Selection & Health
Our breeding dogs are carefully selected based on:
- lineage
- performance
- DNA testing
- hip evaluations
Our breeding female is HD-B certified.
We prioritize balanced, stable bloodlines, both in temperament and natural abilities, particularly for hunting.
Our dogs are naturally bobtailed (born without a tail), a recognized trait within the breed, with no impact on health or abilities.
Veterinary Care & Follow-Up
Veterinary care is a central part of our breeding program.
We benefit from regular home visits, ensuring attentive, personalized, and responsive follow-up, both for our dogs and to support future families.
Hunting-Oriented Development
For families interested in hunting, we gently stimulate the puppies’ natural instincts through adapted play:
- hunting-related sound exposure
- feather lure rods
- retrieving games
Support at Departure
When your puppy leaves, we provide:
- a practical guide with key recommendations
- a dedicated Brittany Spaniel education guide
- a hunting introduction guide for first training steps
Depending on availability, a welcome kit may also be offered.
Our Commitment
We do not produce puppies.
We raise them with intention, consistency, and deep respect for the breed.
Each puppy is placed with care, in a home that matches its temperament, needs, and future lifestyle.
Important Commitment
n the event of abandonment, rehoming, or inability to keep the dog, the dog must be returned to the breeder.
It may not be given, sold, or transferred without prior written consent.
